Proposal by Adam Pask(POL) to conduct the Paramotor Competitions at the 2017 World Game sin Wroclaw
We concluded that a task catalogue should comprise 8-10 tasks max.
Beside known technical tasks of the classic paramotor competitions we intend to run tasks featuring use of water pools, hoops and balls.
All tasks excluding „bowling” landing will be scored according to time, as measured with electronic gates.
Proposed tasks:
1. Landing accuracy - „bowling” with use of 10 pins of 50 cm, set at 1 m intervals.
2. Slalom „cloverleaf” - a stick, start and finish timing gates.
3. Slalom „eight” - a stick, start and finish timing gates.
4. Slalom „triangle” - 4 sticks, 1 pylon, start and finish timing gates.
5. Slow/fast speed range (5 sticks at 50 m)
6. Carrying hoops
7. Carrying balls (60 cm)
8. Kicking balls out of a 5x5 m area (volleyballs)
9. Swooping (water skimming)
No other tasks are planned, so that all participants will be able to prepare for the competition.
Combining tasks is possible, e.g in one flight you are to complete an “8” slalom + hoop carrying + swooping etc.
All tasks will be carefully described and depicted in the catalogue.
Scoring.
Scoring will use the simple scheme used in slalom competitions:
1st place - 1 point
2-2
3-3
4-4 etc.
Mistake – max +1
Accuracy landing:
10 pins -1 point
9-2
8-3 etc.
“Slow/fast” scoring – we will use the classic paramotor competition scheme, max slow (125), min fast (125), max difference (250). Points will be assigned according to the placing as above.
Competitor equipment:
Each pilot can use but one canopy and one paramotor for all tasks. A replacement in case of a damage is possible with the organizer’s permission and only for the same gear (canopy – same size, paramotor – same or lower displacement).
Competition staff:
1. Meet director
2. Assistant
3. Competition office
4. Measurements (3 persons)
Jury - 3 persons
Safety officers (2): In case of observed emergency they will be able to:
- cancel the task
- ban dangerous equiment (canopy, paramotor)
- in case of dangerous behavior of a competitor, they will be in position to issue a warning, suspend a pilot or definitively exclude him from the competition. Their decision will be final, given that it will be explained in writing and confirmed by the complete jury.
Organizing equipment:
Pylons – the TWG organizer must answer if the pylons can sport any logotypes. If they require that all logos have to be accepted by the TWG organizer, at least 8 12-meter high pylons have to be supplied.
Pylon blowers – electric, 8 pcs with emergency batteries
Slalom sticks – 2 m high plus covers (foam) 10 pcs.
Timing – we have timing gear used for WPC2015 in Legnica, it will be necessary to modify it for longer distance between gates (radio connection).
Balls - 60 cm, 10 pcs
Volleyball balls – 8 pcs
Accuracy landing pins
Total costs as documented on purchase.
Personal costs.
Jury – travel expenses, room & board plus a salary for “safety officers”
Meet director - travel expenses, room & board both during preparation (including all documented TWG travels) and salary for each competition day.
Assistant (1 person) and Competition office (1 person) - travel expenses, room & board plus salary for each competition day.
Timing (3 persons) - travel expenses, room & board plus salary for each competition day.
Timetable:
Acclimatization 18 July 2017
Arrival 19 July 2017
Training 20 July 2017
Competition 21-23 July 2017
Reserve day 24 July 2017

Competitors
According to presented rules there will be 18 pilots competing. I believe that in such case we should extend through the NACs direct invitations to individual competitors of:
France
England
Spain
Czechia
Qatar
Taiwan
USA
South Africa
Italy
Germany
Slovakia
Russia
Brazil
Poland
We should keep two places for competitors from France, Czechia, Spain and Poland.
Presence of each pilot should be confirmed both by relevant NAC and the pilot himself.
Due to emergencies some substitution pilots should be ready too.
Further actions.
Signing contracts for carrying out specified tasks
Preparing task catalogue and the competition – up to 10th October
Mailing information to NACs and invitations to competitors – up to 20th October with final answer deadline 31st December.
Accepting the TC and LR at CIMA meeting in November.
Accepting list of the participants confirmed by their NACs – up to 1 March 2017
In next May or June we plan to held a test competition (training) in Wrocław.
Remark by Wolfgang Lintl:
Decision about some items mentioned above has to be done by CIMA Plenary in accordance to the WG-rules
