The CIMA standard as contained in FAI Section 10 annex 6 lays down a standard format which all approved flight recorders must provide.
This format is based on the FAI IGC format as devided by the International Gliging Commission of the FAI and the files are always named with the suffix .igc
There are many different free and commercial softwares which will read .igc format files. Some examples are:
- Oziexplorer
- SeeYou
- Coutraci
Jose Luis Esteban has also devised MicroFlap which is specially designed to analyse flights in Microlight competitions.
