* *Practice the tasks*. Since we want all competing pilots to be adequately competent, the [local regulations and task catalogue|3ABG Local regulations] should be used by pilots as a training aid. Most tasks have a note indicating what constitutes a 'good' performance. Note that giant (12m) inflatable pylons will be used in many of the slalom tasks.

* *Get a FAI Sporting Licence* All competing pilots must have a FAI Sporting licence issued by their NAC, valid for *microlights and paramotors* for the duration of the event, and recorded in the [FAI Sporting Licence database|http://www.fai.org/sportinglicences_validity] (if it is working). Special arrangements are in place for atletes of OCA member nations which are not FAI members. [FAI members|www.fai.org/members]. *IMPORTANT* If you are from one of these nations please get in touch with [FAI Secretariat|http://www.fai.org/contact-us}] as soon as possible*.

* *Organize insurance* All competing pilots must have adequate 3rd party insurance, (the required minimum is stated in the local regulations). Medical insurance is highly recommended.
* *Understand the anti-doping rules* All pilots are invited to read the ABG [doping control guide|http://sports.china.com/zh_cn/yashahui/Doping.pdf]. Since it is catastrophic for any competitor to get a positive test it is essential that all pilots are aware of the rules and vital that anyone taking any palliative drug obtains a TUE (Theraputic Use Exemption) in advance of the event. A good first step is to read the overview [anti-doping-and-me|http://www.fai.org/component/phocadownload/category/511-anti-doping?download=2256:anti-doping-and-me] available from the [anti-doping programme section|http://www.fai.org/cimp-projects/cimp-fai-anti-doping-programme] of the [FAI website|http://www.fai.org].

* *Transportation of equipment* The Air Sports Federation of China will be offering to rent Paramotor power units, in this case pilots will only need to bring with them their canopy and safety equipment (helmet, reserve Etc) *but this must have been arranged in advance with ASFC* Please contact [FAI Secretariat|http://www.fai.org/contact-us}] for further info. Otherwise teams will have to plan how they are going to get their equipment there. The organizers do have a freight department but it appears their effort is mostly aligned towards temporary importation of equipment by media organizations but it might be worth giving them a try. Further information is available in the [Press customs and freight manual and appendices|http://sports.china.com/zh_cn/yashahui/Appendices.zip] document on the ABG website.
